LiftMaster simplified the product family into three clear levels that are easy to quote and stock:
- Basic – 2220L & 2420L: Compact DC units built for everyday reliability. The 2420L adds battery backup.
- Plus – 6580L: Adds motion-detect lighting, swivel camera, and built-in battery backup.
- Premium – 6690L (belt) & 4690L (chain): Strongest motors, ring LED lighting, full camera, and lifetime warranty.
Wall-mount models 98022 and 98032 remain unchanged.

Are the new openers compatible with existing rails?
Yes. Security+ 3.0 openers use the same chain and belt rails as Security+ 2.0 units. You can use your existing rail inventory with no adjustments.
Will older remotes and keypads still work?
No. Security+ 3.0 introduces a new encryption standard to block counterfeit accessories. The 893MAX and 877LM models are not compatible with these units.
Do these units still support HomeLink?
Yes. HomeLink 4, 5, and 6 are all supported. Setup is easier with Easy Train pairing—no repeater required.
What’s different between Pro and retail models?
Pro models include stronger DC motors, metal housings, and full warranties. Retail versions use plastic housings and shorter coverage.
